Poolside Artificial Turf in Cornelius, NC Put the space around your pool to work.

Artificial turf can frame the pool, connect stepping stones and create a place to play. The right result starts with the use of the space and the preparation beneath it.

WORTH THINKING ABOUT

Lower maintenance still means some maintenance

Plan for leaf removal, cleaning and care suited to pets and foot traffic. Ask for the selected turf manufacturer’s care instructions before you commit.

01

Choose the job you want the turf to do.

A narrow green strip between pavers is different from a dog’s regular route through the yard. A play area is different again. Before discussing a product, tell us who will use the space, how often, and whether pets will be part of everyday life there.

The look matters too. A continuous green area can calm a busy layout, while turf around individual stepping stones creates a stronger pattern. Consider the view from the house and how the turf meets the pool deck, planting and boundaries. Patriot can plan those relationships as part of a pool project or review a separate turf inquiry.

02

Ask what is happening below the green.

The finished surface is what you see, but preparation and drainage determine how the installation fits the property. Discuss existing ground conditions, water movement and the intended base. If an area already holds water, covering it is not a complete drainage plan.

Edges and seams should be part of the scope. Ask where joins will fall, how perimeter edges will be secured and how the surface meets paving. Around a pool, those transitions are especially visible because the materials sit side by side.

03

Make the sun and pets part of the decision.

Ask how the proposed product feels in direct summer sun and what the manufacturer recommends for cooling or shade. Consider the hours when children, pets or bare feet will use the area. A small sample indoors cannot answer every question about an exposed outdoor installation.

For pets, ask about cleaning access, drainage and the specific care routine. For a putting area, discuss the intended use and available products rather than assuming any lawn-style turf will behave like a putting surface. Bring these questions to the design center alongside your photos and measurements.

QUESTIONS BEFORE YOU COMMIT

Good questions.
Useful answers.

The details that help you choose your next step.

Can turf be installed as part of the pool project?

Yes. We can coordinate turf with pool decking and landscaping so the surrounding surfaces are planned together.

Is artificial turf maintenance free?

No. It generally requires debris removal and periodic cleaning. Product-specific care depends on the material and how the area is used.

Does artificial turf get too hot for dogs or bare feet?

It can become hot in direct sun. Discuss shade, exposure and how children and pets will use the area. Check conditions before use and follow product guidance; do not choose turf on a promise that it will always stay cool.

Do you need drainage underneath artificial turf?

The backing, prepared base and drainage destination all need to work together. Show us places that puddle after rain. Replacing the visible grass alone does not resolve an underlying drainage problem.

Can dogs use artificial turf without it smelling?

Pet use needs a cleaning plan as well as suitable materials and drainage. Explain how many dogs use the area and where waste tends to collect. Ask for the selected product’s rinsing and cleaning instructions before installation.

Can turf be used between pool pavers?

That detail can be discussed as part of the design. Strip width, edge restraint, drainage and ease of cleaning all deserve attention. Bring an inspiration photo so the team can assess how the detail would work on your property.
