THE BEFORE PHOTO MATTERS
Tell us what should stay.
An established planting bed, the view from a porch or a well-used path can be the strongest part of the new plan. Make a keep list before you make a shopping list.

York-Chester and Brookwood deserve more than a pin on a map.
Gastonia publishes separate maps for the York-Chester and Brookwood local historic districts, as well as other historic designations. If your home is in one of those settings, check the specific designation before deciding how a pool, fence or new hardscape should be introduced.
Local and National Register boundaries are shown separately on the city’s map resources. Ask which review applies to your parcel; do not assume that every older Gastonia home has the same restrictions. The aim is to bring an accurate starting brief to the design conversation.
Look at the back elevation before choosing materials. Does the existing porch feel elevated above the yard? Is there a terrace worth retaining? Would a raised spa improve the view or block it? These questions create a more useful brief than choosing a pool solely from its outline.
Patriot’s design center lets the conversation include water, pavers, turf edges and planting together. A restrained palette can make a new space feel settled. Leave adequate room for furniture and access so that attractive planting does not gradually swallow the route around the pool.

Be specific about the service you need in Gastonia.
A planned construction project, a one-time equipment visit and weekly cleaning involve different schedules. We are based in Cornelius. Share your Gastonia address and requested work so the team can confirm coverage and project fit before an appointment is arranged.
If you already have a pool, describe its condition first. A pump that stops, a heater error or persistent cloudy water needs a different conversation from new backyard design. Equipment labels and a clear history help the team decide what information or assessment is needed next.

Can you work with the style of a historic Gastonia home?+
Bring photographs and any applicable district guidance. The design conversation can address scale, materials and screening, with required reviews established for the property.
What if we only need pool repair?+
Choose Equipment repair in the inquiry form. Include the model, symptoms and when the issue began so the team can assess service fit.
Can a new pool suit the character of an older Gastonia home?+
Start with the features you want to respect: brickwork, porch views, existing garden or mature planting. Compare scale and material choices against the house. Use the local district information linked in this guide if the parcel may have additional design considerations.
Can I arrange a design conversation before driving from Gastonia to Cornelius?+
Yes. Start with the inquiry form and a discovery call. Explain your priorities and location first, then arrange a design-center visit with the team so the trip has a clear purpose.
