WORTH THINKING ABOUT

One useful detail to share

Tell us the pool’s surface finish. The appropriate brush and vacuum setup depend on what they will touch.

01

Look at where the debris collects.

Leaves floating near the skimmer tell a different story from sediment on steps or debris tucked into a corner. Note the areas that repeatedly need attention. Trees, wind exposure and the pool’s layout can help explain the pattern.

A description of those areas helps frame the cleaning scope. So does the amount of debris. A routine visit and a pool that has been neglected for an extended period may require different equipment, time and follow-up.

02

Physical cleaning is one part of care.

Skimming removes floating material, brushing addresses accessible surfaces and vacuuming collects material that has settled. The work should be suited to the finish and equipment. A tool that looks similar is not necessarily appropriate for every pool.

If debris removal improves the appearance but the water remains cloudy, more vacuuming may not answer the whole problem. Water testing and the filter’s performance also belong in the discussion. Mention unusual pressure readings, weak circulation or equipment interruptions.

03

Choose a one-time task or an ongoing routine.

When you contact Patriot, describe the current condition and the result you need. Perhaps you want help after a period away, or perhaps cleaning has become a recurring weekend chore you would like to hand over.

For ongoing care, ask which cleaning tasks are included and how often each is performed. If you use a robotic cleaner, tell us its model and what it currently covers so the service plan accounts for the tasks still left to do.

What should weekly pool maintenance include?

QUESTIONS BEFORE YOU COMMIT

Good questions.
Useful answers.

The details that help you choose your next step.

Is brushing part of weekly service?

It may be included in the agreed maintenance plan. Confirm the tasks and frequency when the service is quoted.

Can cleaning solve cloudy water?

It may help, but chemistry and filtration also need consideration. Describe the full situation when you contact the team.

Why brush a pool if I already use a robotic cleaner?

Look at what the cleaner actually reaches. Steps, corners and other details may still need attention. A cleaning routine should cover the whole surface rather than assume every area is handled by the robot.

Can the same brush be used on every pool finish?

Choose tools that the finish manufacturer permits. Tell the team whether the pool has plaster, vinyl, fiberglass or another surface, and mention any recent refinishing. A brush that suits one finish may be unsuitable for another.

Can you remove a large amount of leaves from the bottom?

Describe the depth of the debris, how long it has been there and whether the bottom is visible. Heavy cleanup may need a different scope from a routine maintenance visit. Photos can help during follow-up.

Will vacuuming remove every stain?

No. Loose debris and a discolored surface are different problems. Tell us whether the mark brushes away, when it appeared and what treatments have been used so the next assessment is appropriate.
